Thanks, Lynn! I think poppies might have been rare this year? I'm anxious to see what next year brings!

It's so great that you found these pretty poppies up there! That bright orange always adds so much to a landscape and this landscape is just beautiful!! f/l

Beautiful poppies Kathy. I loved it so much (except for the rattlesnakes), I'm thinking of making a return trip next week!

Kathy Yates replied:

Hi Marc, thank you! I love Carrizo too! I wish I could go again this year. Your shots are great and it looks like you did a lot of hiking to get them. Did you see a lot of snakes? Hoping for another superbloom next year to have more time to hike up to where you did.

Beautiful Kathy. Beautiful flowers and Beautiful day. There were very few Poppies 4/9/17 when I was there down in the valley. I heard there were good splashes of blue up off of Hurricane Rd. in the Temblors, but there were so many people there it was a zoo. The people at the Goodwin center advised not to drive up there that day.

Kathy Yates replied:

Hi Craig, Thanks for your comment! I was there 4/8 in the late afternoon and then half the day on 4/9. I saw the herds of people. :-( I drove a little ways up on Elkhorn, parked and then hiked to this spot. I only saw a few people here, but the other side near Seven Mile Rd. was very busy! I love your floral shots of the plain, BTW.
