Description
Calla lilies grow wild amongst beautiful oaks in Olompali State Historic Park in Spring.
Olompali State Historic Park is located in Novato, California, and is part of the California State Parks.
The park has an interesting history and dates back to 6,000 B.C., when the Coast Miwok Indians inhabited the area. In 1843, it became Rancho Olompali, during the Mexican land grant era. Later it was sold to the University of San Francisco in the 1960's and was home to the rock band the Grateful Dead. It was also a hippie commune during this era. In 1977, it was purchased by the State of California.
